Nadine Dorries insists Channel 4 will be privatised and sold: 'It's not for me to chop it up into bits'

Nadine Dorries has rejected the suggestion to ring fence Channel 4 Information from her privatisation plan.

The Tradition Secretary confirmed earlier this month that she's going to proceed with plans to privatise the broadcaster which has been publicly owned because it was based by Margaret Thatcher in 1982 and is funded by promoting.

Channel 4 Information' fundamental anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy's identified that "editorial independence and funding of stories could be ring-fenced" if the federal government needs.

In an unique interview with GB Information, Ms Dorries rejected the concept saying: "Why we might do this and who can be the profit from that?”

Plans for the sale will reportedly be set out in a White Paper later this month and shall be included in a brand new Media Invoice for subsequent spring.

Ms Dorries advised presenter Dan Wootton: "I really feel very strongly that if Margaret Thatcher have been right here now she can be saying that is precisely the best factor to do."
