Former minister told 'she was only given the job because of certain body parts'

Westminster has a tradition that's “belittling and demeaning” in the direction of ladies, in line with a former minister.

Senior Conservative Caroline Nokes mentioned that when she was a “very new minister” she was informed by an unnamed person who she had “solely been provided that job due to sure physique elements” she had as a lady.

Ms Nokes was appointed a junior minister within the Division for Work and Pensions in 2016 by then prime minister Theresa Might and was later made immigration minister.

Chatting with GB Information, the chairwoman of the Girls and Equalities Committee mentioned: “I feel anyone in politics is kind of assertive. They’re fairly outspoken, they maintain robust views.

“What we see in Westminster although, and what I’ve witnessed over the course of the final 12 years since I’ve been an MP, is what I'd describe because the deliberate belittling and demeaning of girls MPs, a tradition which fosters a scarcity of respect.”

Her feedback come after Neil Parish formally resigned as an MP after the veteran Tory admitted watching pornography within the Commons.

Ms Nokes is amongst these within the Conservative ranks to name for an all-women shortlist sooner or later Tiverton and Honiton by-election to elect Mr Parish’s successor.

Advocating for so-called “secure seats” for feminine candidates when they're vacated in future, she informed the broadcaster it was time to “get away” from a “male-dominated tradition” and that it was taking too lengthy to attain a gender-balanced Parliament.
