Former racing driver Tony Brooks, who gained six Components One Grand Prix races within the Nineteen Fifties and 60s, has died aged 90.
Brooks, dubbed the ‘Racing Dentist’, was the final surviving Grand Prix winner from the Nineteen Fifties following the loss of life of Sir Stirling Moss in 2020.
Goodwood Revival introduced on its official Twitter account: “We're unhappy to announce the passing of Tony Brooks, the final surviving Grand Prix winner from the Nineteen Fifties.
“Referred to as the ‘Racing Dentist’, he was one of many biggest drivers by no means to have been world champion regardless of six Grand Prix wins. Our ideas are along with his household.”
Brooks raced in 39 F1 races and completed second on this planet drivers’ championship with Ferrari in 1959 after ending third the earlier 12 months with Vanwall.
Born in Dukinfield, Cheshire in 1932, Brooks, who adopted his father into dentistry, secured three pole positions and 10-podium finishes throughout his six-year F1 profession.
