Woman arrested after 11 dead dogs found at Bakersfield homes

A 22-year-old lady was arrested on suspicion of felony animal abuse after animal management officers discovered 11 useless canines and dozens of malnourished animals at three houses in Bakersfield earlier this month, in accordance with police.

Annie Schreiber was booked Saturday on suspicion of 11 counts of felony animal abuse and different costs after the useless canines have been discovered. Animal management officers searched the houses on Aug. 11 and located 29 canines and three cats affected by neglect and 11 useless canines, in accordance with the Bakersfield Police Division.

Schreiber allegedly operated an unlicensed animal boarding and coaching enterprise and was “immediately answerable for the neglect of the animals,” police stated.

Schreiber was not on the residence throughout the search, however police stated they later discovered and arrested her in reference to the useless and uncared for animals. Police have been first known as to the scene after a caller reported a foul odor coming from a house within the 100 block of Bernard Avenue. Two different houses have been searched, one within the 9000 block of Centennial Courtroom and one other within the 15000 block of Oakencroft Drive. Police stated the three houses have been related to Schreiber, the Bakersfield Californian reported.

Ten canines have been present in closed kennels at one of many deserted houses and one other useless canine was discovered at one other residence, in accordance with police.

Schreiber stays in custody and is scheduled to look in a Kern County courtroom on Tuesday afternoon. She is being held on $250,000 bail. She was arrested on suspicion of 10 misdemeanor counts of abandoning a canine or cat, 20 misdemeanor animal cruelty counts and 26 counts of working a kennel with out a allow, together with the felony costs, in accordance with jail data.
