To the editor: Some Republican leaders simply know how one can lose. Proper earlier than a predicted “pink wave” on Nov. 8, Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) indicated that if he turns into speaker of the Home after his celebration takes management of that physique, he might block new protection and humanitarian help to Ukraine.

This assertion confirmed not solely his lack of compassion. It was simply dumb.

Why would McCarthy wish to abandon the courageous, outnumbered Ukrainians who've sacrificed a lot in protection of their nation? Was it as a result of a current Pew ballot mentioned that 32% of Republican voters now consider that the U.S. is offering an excessive amount of assist to Ukraine?

An actual chief strives to do what is correct and good. Most of us, together with Republicans, know that it isn't proper or good to desert Ukraine and provides Russian chief Vladimir Putin an unjust, merciless victory.

To the editor: That is my open letter to McCarthy concerning his and different Republicans’ menace to cease help to Ukraine if he turns into speaker of the Home:

“Expensive Prime Minister Chamberlain....”

..

To the editor: It’s despicable for McCarthy to characterize our help to Ukraine as writing a “clean verify.”

In different phrases, McCarthy thinks our help of Ukraine has been frivolous and we must always permit Russia to invade different nations if stopping them meets his arbitrary thought of too expensive. I’m certain Putin would be the first to endorse McCarthy’s weak international coverage beliefs.

McCarthy’s politically motivated free lips are harmful and undermine the U.S. and our allies.
