Man robbed at knifepoint at Coxwell Station during rush hour

Police say a person has been robbed at knifepoint at Coxwell Station.

Toronto police obtained a name for a theft simply after 4:20 p.m. on Friday, they stated on Twitter.

The person was allegedly robbed on the subway platform by two suspects.

No accidents have been reported.

TPS is requesting the general public’s help in finding the 2 suspects. One is described as a tall Black male carrying a navy blue jacket and ski masks, whereas the opposite is a shorter Black male with a buzz reduce carrying all black clothes.

This incident follows quite a few violent incidents on the TTC in 2023, together with the deadly stabbing of a 16-year-old on Saturday evening.

TTC security is a hot-button subject for the continued mayoral election. Candidates have voiced deep considerations over violent incidents on Toronto’s transit system, and have listed improved mobile service, elevated policing and hiring social staff as potential techniques to handle the issue.
