Ontario driver charged for driving too slow on Highway 401

An Ontario driver has been charged for driving too sluggish on Freeway 401.

Const. Kirk Papadopoulos mentioned the motive force was going 60 km in a 100 km/h zone on the most important roadway.

The Toronto police officer flagged the incident in a Twitter put up on Friday afternoon.

“Driving too sluggish on [a highway] could be harmful attributable to elevated danger of accidents, impaired visitors stream, raised probability of rearend collisions,” Papadopoulos mentioned.

Ontario’s Freeway Site visitors Act defines “pointless sluggish driving” as a car pushed at such a sluggish price of velocity that it “impedes” or “blocks” the conventional stream of visitors.

“[It’s] essential to retain a secure, cheap velocity & use hazard lights when slower than stream of visitors,” Papadopoulos mentioned.

The cost for pointless sluggish driving is a minimum of $150 and no more than $1,000, along with two demerit factors, in accordance with the Freeway Site visitors Act.
