"At round 1.20am, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression from the course of the occupied Golan Heights focusing on a number of positions within the neighborhood of Damascus," Syria's state information outlet Sana reported.

The assault "injured two troopers and brought about some materials losses", it stated.

Syria's air defence intercepted a number of missiles, the ministry stated.
